Newly Developed Hierarchical Nano-Porous Layer Glass
01/21/2025
We have newly developed glass with a hierarchical structure in which pores measuring tens of nanometers gradually decrease in size from the surface toward the interior of the glass.
Its use is being considered mainly in fields requiring high light acquisition efficiency.
Main Features
- The surface exhibits superhydrophilicity and is resistant to dirt.
- Low reflectivity with high transmittance in the visible light region.
- Capable of mass production in a short time compared to existing technologies (etching treatment at room or low temperatures is possible).
- By applying a functional film to the hierarchical nano-porous layer, performance and durability are improved.
- The lower layer of the hierarchical nano-porous layer becomes a compressive stress layer, possessing high fracture strength.
